A classic demonstration of the anecdotal evidence fallacy. "Hey, I'm fortunate enough to not have to worry about it, so it must be true for everyone else."

But wait! To prove this, I'm going to add that I saw old laddies who I assume must be struggling solely on social security checks buying drinking water they don't need.

Of course, you don't know that they're struggling solely on social security checks, do you? Assumption. You don't know if, perhaps, their drinking water or well tastes funny, and that the water is in fact unnecessary, do you? Another assumption.

And one can well look at actual home selling prices to determine how much housing has gone up without adding the chimera of cable costs.

Fallacy compounded atop fallacy.
