It's a two-way street. In the US many companies have found that they simply can't pay starvation wages and expect people to gladly show up to be shafted.

And you have another bias showing. What makes you think the Asians *want* a western lifestyle. They probably want to to prosperous. But I doubt most want the suburban nightmare with an F-150 in every driveway.
