All you've shown here really is that you can build better characterization in a longer format. But there's a ton of original horror and sci-fi content out there that I'd rather see come to the screen.

Tired of remakes, and especially tired of "reboots".

Besides, the odds that the remake will actually be better than--or even as good--as the original are not very high...
