American motor vehicles kill over 42,000 Americans and injure almost 2.5 million people in one way or another in the 6 million--SIX MILLION--accidents that occur each and every year.
That's 115 people killed each and every day.
We've been brainwashed by the automotive industry into thinking that such a vehicle means "freedom", and their marketing continually tells us that we need the biggest and best vehicle we can afford. (On which they make the most money, of course.)
Most of us spend an extremely high percentage of our annual income on loan payments, on fuel and maintenance, on auto insurance, on registrations and fees, and, of course, on parking.
All to own and maintain a vehicle that sits in a garage (assuming it fits) or in a parking lot over 95% of the time.
And we call it normal.
