Another issue that seems to make Tesla's increasingly problematic for repair, in addition to the "gigapress" design philosophy.

While it makes assembly much easier and cheaper, it also means that any significant damage to the front or rear castings means that the car is totalled.

It's great that battery prices are declining, but "disposable" techniques such as this already seem to be resulting in higher insurance prices.

And since they're imposed every year, eats quickly into your TCO.
