As mentioned YouTube, Udemy, Plurasight, Stack Overflow and the internet in general have dramatically reduced the need for technical books.

I still buy them from time to time, but today I almost always buy ebooks I can read on my iPad.

One additional drawback to the majority of technical books is that they age poorly. By them time some book on programming iOS 14 hits the shelf Apple has already released iOS 15.
