Agree with everything you've said, but this statement bothers me to. certain degree.

I remember in the '90s we had our first largely unsuccessful attempt at producing an electric car, the EV1. How many years of failure did we go through since then to get where we are today?

And who could have foreseen that advances in battery technology that are making today's vehicles possible?

So yes, given current technology, H2 seems unsuitable for most of our electrical needs. But perhaps HTTR or some other technology will become viable.
