Even if an administration had slow-played the initial response to avoid "upsetting the markets", I still think that turning the response into a politcal us-vs-them free-for-all made matters far, far worse.

Donald even yelled at people for including the cases from the ship, as it made "his" numbers look worse.

If this had occurred under Obama's watch, I've got to think we would have had a more measured, controlled, and effective response. Further, that was also the president that pushed for the ACA and Medicare expansion. And got it.

To another point, while I'd tend to agree that business has far, far too much control over governmental policy. I don't think I'd agree that both sides are equally cruel and heartless.

In fact, I do think that one side, in particular, is somewhat more beholden to businsess in that it constantly promotes deregulation, elimination of enviromental protection laws, and continually refuses to even acknowledge the possibility of climate change.

As I pointed out in another response to one of Lauren's diatribes, "Politics is the art of the possible." I would have much have preferred, for example, Warren or Sanders. Sanders for policies, Warren as she has continually stood up against big business and corporate overreach.

But neither one is the candidate that I have. And I refuse to do nothing in the mistaken belief that both sides are just as bad.
