If benchmarks, the A12z already performs better than Intel low-end and mid-range chips. And that's in a tablet throttled to minimize temp and maximize battery life. What happens when they have a notebook's power and thermal budget?
Not to mention that the A12z is about two generations behind, process-wise.
If real-world processing, I can point you to videos where people are doing 4K video editing and real-time rendering on iPads and the silly things aren't even breaking a sweat. All of the custom silicon for image processing, video processing GPU performance, AI processing...
