Globally, about 0.0012% of electric passenger vehicles caught fire from 2010 to 2023. Statistically, this is significantly lower than the rate of 0.04% for internal combustion engine (ICE) passenger vehicles.

In the United States, fire departments responded to an average of 215,096 vehicle fires annually from 2018–2022.

So yeah, ignore the fact that you're about 33x more likely to have your gas guzzler go up in flames. ;)
