He wrote primarily about his half-hour experience and then projected from there as well as from his experience in the field in general. It's what tech writers do
Apple made a presentation and made claims about the product. Did the demo back them up? Sounds like it did.
Do his conclusions fall in line with many of the others who where there and saw the same demonstrations? They seem to.
If you can't write about your experiences or extrapolate from them, then it's probably a good thing you're not a writer.
And if you disagree with some of his conclusions or projections then that's your prerogative.
Then again, it sounds like that disagreement wouldn't be based on ANY experience with the product in question, so I'd probably have to take those arguments along with a fairly large grain of salt.
