I have a a6500 that I don't think I've used in a year. This after a period of time where I shot and owned a couple of Canon 1Ds.

I miss long lenses, but I also don't miss carrying a 20lb bag of gear.

Traditional camera manufacturers are simply not going to be able to compete on computational photography and processing. Canon or Sony may sell a couple of million cameras of a specific model all told. Apple and Samsung sell hundreds of millions of cameras (phones) each and every year.
