I think a lot of alternatives are being developed, as cement production, steel production, and other industries all recognize that they're on the CO2 hit list.

There's a YouTube channel called, "Let's have a think" that typically hits a lot of these topics.

I'm pretty sure everyone understands that we'll never actually completely eliminate fossil fuel use. But most of the climate goals don't require complete elimination either.
