IIRC, semi holds roughly 160/g for 1,000-1,200 mile range. That works out by my math to be about $1,500 or so just in fuel costs for a single cross-country trip.
As such, I'm extremely surprised that some major cross country trucking firm hasn't decided to start buying electric trucks, started installing some strategically placed solar/battery charging stations along its main routes, and begun reaping the benefits of "free" fuel.
Eliminate (or drastically reduce) fuel and maintenance costs, and no one else could begin to even touch your rates.
