I'm now officially on the fence in regard to Generative AI and software.

How many years ago were we discussing self-driving cars? And yet Musk's FSD Tesla is still, perpetually, "almost" here.

Using Generative AI in software is beginning to feel like that, especially when I watch videos like the following where an Android developer attempts to use Google's new StudioBot.

Will it be transformative? Or is it like FSD and Bitcoin, just another technology desperately hyped by the venture capital seeking crowd, forever and always "almost" here?
