Intelligent central planning is a bit of an oxymoron, but the point holds in that in China, the government did its job for a change.

The "government shouldn't meddle in the marketplace" idiots are the primary reason why the US is now a second-rate industrial power.

China put the might of its government behind investments in manufacturing, EVs, battery technologies, renewable energy technologies, and more.

And we're now seeing the results. Is the world buying American electric automobiles? Solar panels? Batteries? Electronics?

No.

With proper investment, that could have been us. And, unlike China, we could have done so in a responsible, environmentally friendly manner.

Instead, US manufacturers, focused only on quarterly profits and now hopelessly behind, have to scream for tariffs and government interventions that only serve to effectively raise taxes on the American public.

Thanks for killing off American industry.
