It took a few years, but I think they copied Samsung on this one where the flagship (pro) phone had the best CPUs, cameras, etc, and the mid-range got last years best features.

BTW, you're missing the point on LIDAR. The Camera app makes extensive use of the depth map information for Portrait mode and for focusing in low light conditions. And now every "portrait" gets depth information for using Portrait mode after the fact.
