I've been working on this for a couple of months now, pretty much full time. Assuming you want to do the things the library allows you to do, how much time do you want to spend reinventing the wheel?

Same goes for any library, really. Do you have time to do it on your own? Do you know how to do It on your own? If you write your own code, do you have time to maintain it on your own?
