Not following this logic at all. One simply has to witness BYD or XPeng in China to see how economies of scale coupled with lower costs of components and manufacturing have lead to dramatic decreases in retail prices for EVs.
Of course, those factories are also highly automated, which would again place the company at odds with its unions.
I'm generally pro-union and for collective bargaining. Unfortunately, however, I think the auto unions are in danger of killing off their golden geese...
