Reading has always been my superpower.

I was the bane of my local library as I was always sneaking out of the juvenile section and trying to read and checkout books from the adult side of the room.

(Not adult books but books written for adults.) ;)

After being caught the third or fourth time the head librarian asked me why I didn't just read the stuff in the juvenile section?

I told her that I had.

At that she went over and snagged a book off the shelf, held it up, and asked me what it was about. I told her.

She grabbed another one and held it up. I explained the plot of that one to her too. She was reading the dust jacket as I talked and as I went on her face started to gradually change.

After about the sixth or seventh book she asked me flat out, "Have you read ALL of these?"

I said I had, and then to prove my point I went over and pulled some more books off the shelf, showing her my name written on each of the checkout cards.

She just looked at me for a moment, then nodded her head towards the adult side of the room.

"Go ahead."
