Really? Because your point seemed to be that the lineup is just... so... confusing... since the new Air has the M2 and the 14 and 16 inch MBP's with the M1 Pro and the M1 Max do not.

So what was Apple supposed to have done? Update the Air AND the 13 AND the 14 AND the 16 all at once? Build the M2 and M2 Pro and M2 Max, all at the same time?

And then no doubt you'd still be confused, since now the notebooks have M2 and the desktops have M1, and now the notebooks are more powerful that the desktops!

No, actually, my key takeaway is that this was simply yet another "Apple is doomed because they had an event and I didn't get my cake AND ice cream" articles. You know, the ones that after reading make me wish I could take back my page view.
