Reminds me of the story about Henry Ford paying his workers a wage high enough they could afford to buy one of his cars.

Take Amazon. A lot of people are dropping Prime memberships and reducing Amazon purchases simply because of Jeff's business practices and treatment of emloyees.

In short, he created his own bad PR. But what if he'd simply said, "Hey. I'm going to take a billion or so and pay my people better, make sure they have health care, and so on."?

My feeling is that sales might even be up $10-20 billion....

Companies are shortsighted.
