SMRs don't suffer from from the majority of those costs, since the plan is to swap out the reactor housing and return it for reprocessing.

And again, as pointed out, the quoted renewable pricing ignores the money needed for the grid storage solutions required to counteract their intermittency.

Nuclear, if fairly priced, would be a competitive solution.

Unfortunately, nuclear became the target of environment groups back in the 70s, including groups funded largely by the fossil fuel industry.
