Sorry to hear about your delaminated motherboard, but frankly, we could swap annecdotes all day long and the fact of the matter is that most people who own Macs are delighted with them as evidenced by their generally high customer satisfaction ratings.

And in the annecdote category, I owned the 2010 17" MBP prior to buying the 2013, and had no issues with either one, nor with the 2019 16" version I'm delighted to be using at the moment nor does my wife who inherited the 2013 model.

Nor, for that matter, have I ever had any issues with any of the PowerBooks, or Macintoshes or even Apple ]['s and ///'s I've puchased over the years as an Apple developer. Not to mention all of the iPhone and iPads I've used.

Finally, I understand you've jumped through a few hoops to do so, but discussing planned obselescence in regard to a computer that's still in use after 20 years???
