Tesla has been doing something similar in Germany and so have a few others.

But I kind of think it's a stopgap measure as I see more shops, garages, hotels, malls, and of course, restaurants providing charge points as amenities and in order to entice customers.

Heck, if I was, say, Wendy's, I'd go all in and start outfitting locations with charging ports in order to get more customers. (And, of course, rack in a percentage of the charging fees.)
