Thought about this some more last night, then decided we both missed the major point here. The M1X is probably destined for the 16" MacBook Pro, and perhaps a larger iMac (Pro?). And the majority of those are much more likely to be bought by "power users" that are in fact doing photo and video editing, illustration, software develoipment, CAD, engineering, and so on.
