To each their own, I guess. I tend to use my notebook with an external monitor, and I use an external keyboard because the external monitor is my "main" screen...

And I use an extenal trackpad.

Can't imagine using a Mac without gestures, two-finger scroll, swiping between spaces and so on.

Mice also gave me tons of repetitive stress issues that pretty much ceased once I switched to the desktop trackpad.
