Well.. keep in mind that a general-purpose robot needs to navigate in spaces designed for humans, manipulating tools and utensils and other affordances designed for humans.
One other consideration squeezing Tesla is the simple fact that Donald doesn't like EVs, so I expect to see more anti-EV legislation in addition to their plans to drop the tax credit.
