Which is just one of the reasons why Consumer reports rated PHEVs as more problematic than ICEs, hybrids, and BEVs.
More to the point, if you refill with gasoline that infrequently, all the article does is demonstrate how suitable EVs are for the majority of people most of the time.
PHEVs are simply less efficient EVs, destined to forever carry around a complicated ICE engine, transmission, and gas tank... all to just to avoid the "anxiety" of taking an extra 10-20 minutes to recharge once in a blue moon.
