Let's come at this from the other side. You have a home, right? So when you eventually sell that home, are you going to sell it for its original value? Less?

Or are you intent on getting current market rates... or better?

Now let's just say, for the sake of argument, that your home is magically beachfront property. A lot of people want to live on the beach, and some are willing to pay more than others to live there.

Assuming good, qualified buyers, are you going to sell your home for the most you can get?

Because scarcity, supply, and demand are a good part of the problem.
